It is with extreme pleasure that we invite you to participate in the Swing4theCure, Wojo Golf Classic July 21, 2008. We will be having our tournament at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Golf Course in Dana Point, CA.

This classic is named in honor of Jerry "WOJO" Wojciechowski, a beloved husband, father, teacher, and friend. Jerry battled with a life threatening disease called Primary Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) for 13 years.

Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension is a very rare and often undiagnosed or at least misdiagnosed disease and currently has no cure. In short, the disease involves high blood pressure in the pulmonary artery because of changes in the small blood vessels in the lungs that make it harder for blood to flow through the vessels. This has life-threatening consequences such as the enlargement and subsequent failure of the right side of the heart.

As with all rare diseases, Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension suffers from a lack of funding for research. The medical experts in the field of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension feel that a cure is within reach provided there are research dollars available. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the Wojo Golf Classic will go to the non-profit group Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) to fund research studies whose ultimate goal is to find a cure for this devastating disease. Your participation in this event will advance that cause so that one day there will be a cure and hope will continue for the many thousands of people who suffer from PH.

Our goal is to increase awareness about the disease, as well as to build community and raise funds for research.

Thank you!
